The Genetics Mechanisms (GTG) Training Program at UCLA is now in its 33rd year of preparing graduate students for successful careers in teaching and research. It has supported over 200 students, most of whom are already in full-time research and teaching positions. The training program provides research support for graduate students involved in all areas of genetic research at UCLA. Additionally the training program integrates coursework, seminar programs, and the teaching of genetics. Our training faculty have access to graduate students either through primary appointments in the Departments of Biological Chemistry; Chemistry and Biochemistry; Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics; Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology; Human Genetics, or through the Molecular Biology Interdepartmental Ph.D. program.
